The two airlines have announced the termination of their nine‑year trans‑Tasman domestic codeshare, effective 7 April 2027. While an interline agreement will stay in place—allowing passengers to still book a single ticket and have baggage transferred—frequent flyers will lose the ability to earn points, status credits, and reciprocal lounge access on the affected routes. The split comes as both carriers look to reshape their networks, with Qantas expanding direct services and Air NZ seeking new partnership possibilities. [[1]]
