A hotel worker in Bangkok was taken into custody after the Department of Special Investigation uncovered a scheme in which he pretended to run a university research project to lure teenage boys into sending nude photos and videos. The operation, dubbed "Black Research," involved forged university documents and fake lecturer accounts on the messaging app LINE. Police seized more than 5,000 files, over 3,000 of which appear to be child sexual abuse material, along with devices used in the scheme. The 26‑year‑old suspect now faces multiple charges, including document forgery, sexual offences by deception, and possession and distribution of child sexual abuse content. The case highlights ongoing concerns about online exploitation and the need for vigilant law‑enforcement cooperation with child‑protection groups. [[1]]
