Jordan Approves JD400m GAM Sukuk Amid Surge in Missile Interceptions

The Jordanian cabinet has green‑lighted a JD400 million sovereign sukuk linked to the Gulf Investment Fund (GAM), signaling confidence in the nation’s fiscal outlook despite heightened regional tensions. At the same time, Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani highlighted that the Jordan Armed Forces‑Arab Army (JAF) intercepted 218 missiles and drones launched from Iran, neutralising 116 missiles and 102 drones to protect vital sites and preserve daily life. These developments matter because the new sukuk will fund critical infrastructure and economic resilience, while the successful interceptions demonstrate Jordan’s capacity to safeguard its security and maintain stability amid regional conflicts. Going forward, observers should watch the deployment of the raised funds, any further security incidents involving missile threats, and how Jordan balances its economic reforms with ongoing regional security challenges.
